Hi Pierre! Tell us about your job.

Hi, I’m Pierre and I work for more than 10 years at BKS. I’m like the Swiss Army knife from the BKS workshop. I’m able to machine knives but also to finish grinding them. In addition, I am responsible for the control and quality of the parts we produce: I check that the parts meet the customer’s requirements. And I take care of mechanical maintenance and repairs. This makes me a versatile and essential person. I am happy about this situation because I am never bored, and I love my job.

Wow! You do a lot! How did you come by this?

I’m curious and I’m eager to learn. I completed six training courses in several European countries. These ones were paid by BKS because It’s obviously an added value for the company.

What is the main strength needed for your job?

Thanks to machines and technology, it is not necessary to have a particular physical quality. But psychologically, I have to be serious and concentrated. I must be able to do an extremely precise and meticulous job.

Further, I have to keep up with technological developments and the evolution of the industrial era. For this, I read a lot on internet and I receive documentation from BKS as well.
