BKS: Your knives grinding partner with own integrated logistics!

BKS has been a specialist in the sharpening, manufacturing and supply of industrial knives and blades for over 35 years. With four factories worldwide, we are a one-stop-shop for our customers from various industries such as plastics, recycling, steel, packaging, among others.

Customer satisfaction is one of our core values and we strive to provide a personal service to each and every customer. A few months ago, we told you about BKS’ global service. This time, Kris, one of our sales representatives, will tell you about our complete logistics service.

Sharpening and grinding

With three delivery vans on the way each single day, we are able to collect and return our customer’s blades in a short lead time. For our regular customers, we agree on a fixed day where we collect and return the grinded knives. This can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Our workers sharpen and grind to the desired specification, whether it is the customer’s or the manufacturer’s.

New knives

Our warehouse staff keep a constant stock of new knives. This means that we can quickly and easily replace knives that have become too small after several sharpenings, as well as damaged blades, etc., with new ones, so that you always have your full range of knives.

Inspection reports on request

Our engineers produce inspection reports on request. We measure cutting angles, general knife dimensions such as thickness, diameter, height and length as well as geometrical tolerances to guarantee that the knives are correct.
When knives are used in sets, the measurements are coded in a table to ensure traceability and batch control.

Packaging and delivery

When your order is ready, we will protect it and pack it meticulously according to your specifications, or according to our own, which has proven itself over many years. The knives are usually covered with an oil film for protection and preservation, except when the customer specifies that this is not desired.
Our warehouse is equipped with bubble wrap, greaseproof paper, and cardboard paper which allow the knives to be wrapped in the best possible way while protecting them.

Tailor-made boxes are produced to confirm optimal transport and protection of the knives. The cardboard or wooden boxes are then closed, with strapping if necessary, to ensure safe transport. Finally, our delivery service ensures that your order arrives safely, i.e. directly at your company. Conversely, we can also collect your used knives from you.
